July 10, 2026 — As firefighters and emergency personnel continued battling the rapidly expanding Aspen Acres Fire near Pueblo, Colorado, Green Powers America (GPA) demonstrated its commitment to public safety by immediately activating a contingency plan after an unexpected overnight shipment delay.
The City of Pueblo Radio Shop, long-time customer, urgently requested forty Motorola APX4000 replacement batteries to support communications equipment being used by emergency responders assigned to the wildfire incident. The initial overnight shipment was unexpectedly delayed at the UPS air hub in Louisville, Kentucky.
Rather than waiting for the shipment to resume transit, Green Powers America immediately dispatched a second shipment of forty APX4000 batteries to eliminate the risk of extended delays and help ensure first responders received the mission critical power they needed as quickly as possible.
At the time of the request, the Aspen Acres Fire had burned over 89,000 acres, only 14% contained, prompting evacuations, aerial firefighting operations, and the deployment of emergency personnel throughout the region.
